Jolly Snowman - Purple Onion

As I was digging through my stash, I came across Purple Onion's Jolly (snowman looking up) and wondered why there's no ink on this stamp because it's just the cutest snowman!  As of today, I can no longer say that because I made a couple of cards with this guy.

The background is distress ink and I applied them in this order:  Picked Raspberry, Tumbled Glass, Wilted Violet, Broken China, Chipped Sapphire and finally Black Soot.  I've used this colour combo several times when doing background because I think it's so pretty.  Taylored Expression's Twinkle Twinkle background stamp and white embossing powder finished it off.

Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific week!

Elliot & Marcel Feeling Blue - Purple Onion

Awww, this poor elephant has toppled over but his monkey pal is trying to console him.  This is another of the cute Elliot & Marcel from Purple Onion and designed by Julian Charlton. This stamp set is Feeling Blue.
This is another card I did so long ago that I have forgotten the details but what I do know is the elephant is coloured with Copic T5/3/1/0 and then added some dots with a Posca pen.  The paper flowers are the Flower and Leaf Trio from My Favorite Things which has been discontinued but remains a favourite of mine.  The Scallop square is from Gina Marie.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Elliot & Marcel Hugs - Purple Onion

Hi there!  Here we are, almost the end of January and once again I'm wondering where the time goes.  Some days it seems as though it drags on and then the next few speed by so fast it can make your head spin!
Today's card uses the cute Elliot & Marcel Hugs from Purple Onion.  This line of stamps by artist Julian Charlton is so cute and I quite like the whimsical nature of them.
I made this card a long time ago and have long since forgotten the details about supplies I used but I do know the Copic colours for the elephant are T5/3/1/0.  The scalloped rectangle is Gina Marie and the stars are from a Verve die.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Elliott & Marcel Hugs - Purple Onion

Hi there and I hope all is well with you.  We had a bit of snow but it didn't last long and is gone now, thank goodness.  It's cold though, you definitely need a winter jacket.
Today's card uses the sweet image from Purple Onion called Elliot & Marcel Hugs.  I immediately wanted this stamp when I saw it plus I got two more by the same artist.
For whatever reason, I never seem to have thank you cards on hand so decided to make this into one so I quickly did up a sentiment with my computer.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Christmas Travel - Christmas at Sweet Stampin'

It's time for a new challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' and the theme for this month is 'Christmas Travel'.  I have to admit, this theme had me stumped because I don't have any images of Santa's reindeer, sleigh or anything else I thought might be associated with Christmas Travel.  I did remember I had a card I'd never blogged and it does seem to fit the theme so here it is.  The image is Purple Onion's Holiday Sled and I do love their stamps.  They are deeply etched rubber and give you a clean, crisp stamped image every time.
To enter the challenge, you can interpret it however you want but your project must follow the theme.  This month we are sponsored by All Dressed Up who are generously supplying the winner with two images of their choice.

Christmas at Sweet Stampin' - I'm Late!

I'm late, I'm late... for a very important date!  I feel like the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland and yes, I am late!  My Christmas at Sweet Stampin' post was supposed to be May 14 and I'd like to blame it on Blogger's scheduling but no... it's my own poor memory at fault here.  I thought it was on the 20th and I had lots of time so was mortified to see the post but no card from me.  Yikes!
Anyway, it's onward and forward... the theme for this challenge is Santa's Coming so I thought I'd use one of those fabulous Purple Onion stamps and this sad little tree is one from the Merriness set.  The sentiment is also Purple Onion and from the Mini Holiday Sentiments.  I love those stamps... deeply etched red rubber and they stamp crisp and clear every single time.
So... although I was late posting my card, how's this for being early getting some Christmas cards done?  Make sure you head on over to enter the challenge and check out what my DT mates created.
Our sponsor this month is Iva Nova Chest who is generously giving a lovely prize of an assortment of Christmas themed charms.

Glitter, Glitter... Everywhere!

Glitter, Glitter... Everywhere!  That's exactly what the theme of the new challenge is over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' '.  Load it up with sparkle and glitter... a challenge theme fit to order for me because I do  love glitter!  I do have to say, this is the first warm day we've had and it actually feels like spring out there.  I see little bits of green grass poking through, lots of blue sky, big fluffy white clouds... and even the birds are happy!
Our sponsor this month is Stamp Art Design  and the lovely Kathryne is generously giving the challenge winner a prize of 5 digis

Cups of Joy

Just in case you are getting tired of seeing my holiday cards, well... I'm not finished yet!  This is Purple Onion's Cups of Joy and I just love this image.  Because of the wild Christmas rush, I didn't get a chance to post it before so I like to think that instead of being late for the holidays in 2013, I am actually early for the holiday in 2014!
The sentiment is one from the Handwritten Holiday set and I find that little set so versatile - it is all winter/Christmas related but I used it over and over and over.  When finished colouring, I made the border around the image using a Copic Mulit-liner... I love those liners too... no smudging or smearing, ever!

Winterberry

My card today features one of Purple Onion`s fab images designed by Stacey Yacula.  This little fella is named Winterberry and I think he`s one of the cutest little snowmen around.  Easy to colour with Copics and then I added some little dots with Viva`s Liquid Pearls and a little Stickles glitter here and there.  The sentiment is from the Handwritten Holiday set.  The trees are made using Tim Holtz`s embossing folder and I simply added some green Stickles.
Today is the last day to catch the Black Friday specials at Purple Onion but the 25% off sale lasts until December 10th.  Also, be sure to head on over to the inspiration blog to check out what the rest of the team have created.
Thanks for stopping by!

Tags & Paper

Today is the second day Michele at Purple Onion is showcasing some of her design team`s holiday projects.  I decided that since I needed some gift tags, I should make some this year and I am very happy with how they`ve turned out... in fact, I don`t want to put them on gifts in case they get thrown away!  These images are sized perfectly for tags so I used several I had on hand.  Before I get to telling you about the tags, I do want to remind you there is a Black Friday sale at Purple Onion.  All stamps are 25% off until December 10th, plus there will be some additional Black Friday specials which will also be included in the 25% off sale.  These stamps will have an additional 25% off the sale price listed on the website.  To celebrate the recent releases and this sale, there are daily posts by the design team showcasing the images so make a point to stop by the Purple Onion Blog and see what the team has come up with.
I used Stacey Yacula`s images for the first two tags.  The sweet little bluebird is Silver and I set him on the Winter Bough image and then embossed a sentiment from the Handwritten Holiday set which is designed by Jennifer Holmes and Purple Onion Designs.  The pink trees are also Stacey`s Snowy Trees.  Distressing was done with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress ink and of course I had to add some glitter and Frantage.  I also discovered a fab way to do the little bells and am now thinking I am really quite smart!  hahahha... I rolled the bells in Versamark and then dunked them into the Shabby Blue Frantage jar and heat embossed them.

The next set of tags is using the images Danson Decorating, Jingle Bells and Joy.  The big antique gold brad is Stampin`Up and again, more bells dunked into Frantage.  This time I used Aged Ochre and just love it because it looks a lot like rusty bells.  The sentiments are from the same Handwritten Holiday set.

More tags!  For this set, I again used the Handwritten Holiday sentiments.  The cookies and milk image is  called Dear Santa, the cute little snowman is Winterberry and the tree is named Large Pine Tree.

My last project in this post was Michelle asked us to make our own wrapping paper plus a matching card or tag.  Mine is very simple, I took a piece of printed paper and heat embossed one of the sentiments from the Handwritten holiday set in gold.  The tag is another made with the Silver and Winter Bough images with the brad being Stampin`Up and the ribbon from my stash.

This was a long post so thanks for staying with me to the end!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells

Today is a big day over at Purple Onion.  Michele is having a sale and it`s a good one so head on over and check it out.  The sale will start this Friday, November 29 and runs until December 10.  All stamps are 25% off plus there will be some additional Black Friday specials which will also be included in the 25% off sale.  These stamps will have an additional 25% off the sale price listed on the website.  The specials will run through to Cyber Monday (December 2).  I do love the Purple Onion stamps... deeply etched red rubber and they stamp perfectly the first time.  To celebrate the recent releases and this massive sale, there are daily posts by the design team showcasing the images so make a point to stop by the Purple Onion Blog and see what the team has come up with.

This one is Jingle Bells designed by Stacey Yacula and the card was fairly quick to do up.  I used the Frostyville die and cut around the image, then used it on the green backing paper and placed the green one inside the cute edges of the image circle so I have a border.  Easy to do and I like the look.  And of course, you all know how much I love that Frantage... I wish I could buy that by the pailful because, like the little old lady on the Red Hot Sauce commercial, I use that **** on everything!

Tra-La-La

Time for another challenge at All Dressed Up and the theme is Ribbons & Lace.  Easy Peasy, right?  Should have been but my card was finished, pic taken and watermark added when I realized there`s something missing... and it`s the theme.  Duh!... no ribbon or lace on it anywhere so I quickly lifted some layers and added a simple little bow knot, then redid the pic and watermark.  So silly to have forgotten that but it was a quick enough fix!  There`s a few new images in the Etsy shop today and Tra La La is one of them.  Lots of gorgeousness by the design team on the challenge blog too so check that out.
For my card, I coloured the image with Copics and then added various snowflake diecuts dipped in that wonderful Frantage, plus I sprinkled a little bit of it around the image.  A little of the white flower soft on the bunny`s ear muffs and then some Diamond Stickles on the hat and all the scarves.  Stickles and Frantage... my faves!  The sentiment is from the Purple Onion Mini Holiday set.

Christmas Joy

How are you doing with those Christmas cards?  I actually have a few of them made thanks to Christmas at Sweet Stampin' and time is starting to get short.  I so enjoy being on that team and being able to do Christmas cards without the pressure of the holidays.  Except... this month we were gone on holidays and I never gave it a thought that I had a card due at the beginning of the month.  I cannot believe I forgot because I had the card in my head so now my beginning of the month card is a mid month reminder for our Male Christmas Card theme.  This month's prize for first place is a £10 voucher to My Mum's Craft Shop   ££1£
Make sure you drop by Christmas at Sweet Stampin' to check out the gorgeousness the team have put together.
I also want to give a shout out to my good friend Tracy made me up this fab new watermark and I love the scripty font and that pretty butterfly so thanks again Tracy!
Supplies:
Stamps: Purple Onion's Joy stamp designed by Carolyn Draws and the sentiment is one from Paper Smooches Joyful Greetings set
Paper: Farmhouse Paper Company's Norland Cardigan.  This paper company is new to me but I love it.  Great quality and design so I bought a couple packages... you all know how we hate to run out of anything!
Misc:   and of course, no card is complete without some Frantage

Berry

This is my first card as a design team member of a brand new blog called Christmas at Sweet Stampin', and I can't tell you how excited I am to be here and part of this talented group!  This month's challenge theme is Cold & Frosty and believe me, living in Saskatchewan Canada in January... well, I know all about cold & frosty and frosty & cold!  We are on our way to spring though... December 21 was the shortest day and they get longer from here on in so I am looking forward to green grass and leaves on the trees.
My Mums Craft Shop is sponsoring the challenge and are giving the winner a £10 voucher to the shop.

For my card, I used one of Purple Onion's designs by Stacey Yacula and this fabulous image is Berry.  The paper is from the 12 Days of Christmas collection by My Mind's Eye and the sentiment is one from Papertrey's Friendship Jar Fillers.  The snowflakes are from Stampin Up's Snowflake set and after heat embossing them with Ranger's Sticky embossing powder, I sprinkled some of  Ranger's Dry Find Stardust Stickles and then heat set it again.  Amazing how that glitter dries right into the embossing. I sponged in some shading with Tim Holtz's Pumice Stone distress ink, added some liquid Stickles for snow and then free-handed the lines and dots around the paper.  The corner die is Memory Box's Frostyville Wreath.  Lastly, the Copic colours are:
Snowman:  W0 , W1, W3
Nose:  E99, E97, E95
Arms: E11, E13, E19
Scarf: Y0000, Y00, Y17; BG000, BG13, BG23

So, now if you want to see a little more of Cold & Frosty, be sure to head on over to Christmas at Sweet Stampin' to see what the rest of the design team has to share.
