Today's challenge is my first day back as a member of the
A Die for a Sketch team and I'm very excited to be here. I was a member when the challenge blog first began but had to resign my position at the start of this year because I simply had too much going on and it was time to take a breather. But I'm back now and happy about that so thank you ladies for inviting me back.
The rules to join the challenge are simple. Simply follow the sketch above and use at least one die. Easy Peasy, right? We have two fabulous sponsors this month.
This little gal is aptly titled
Girl Dressing Up and is available at the
Jelly Park shop. I used My Mind's Eye papers from the Portabello Road collection and the fabric button and brads are Basic Grey and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up. The lattice die is Memory Box's Tessantina Border and the banners are My Favorite Thing Mini Wavy Pennant. The image was coloured with Copics and I added some Fun Flock to her little boa and some Startdust Stickles to the handbag and flowers on her hat. A little bit of Shabby Blue Frantage around the image and a Viva Pearl pen for her beads.
I had a horrible accident on one of the bottom pearls... it was going along nicely and then it must have been an air bubble and too hard of a squeeze because there was this big 'galump' sound and a massive pearl popped out. It then turned into an I Love Lucy rerun because I couldn't get that stuff off fast enough and when I finally had it in my hand, without thinking, I wiped it on my sweater... one of my good sweaters so now I have a mess on my card plus on my sweater. I had to pick which was the priority... I tried to clean up the card best I could but sadly, my sweater still has this shiny, pearly white spot on it. I think this is called taking one for the team!
