Hippie Chick - All Dressed Up Challenge

I hope you are keeping well.  It's all good here but I am really looking forward to spring.  We haven't had a lot of snow so far but we've had a couple of cold spells and are in the midst of one right now.  It's warmer today but yesterday was a brisk -29 Celcius.  Yes, I typed that correctly... -29.  We don't have many days like that but when we do, I stay inside where it's cozy and warm.
Today marks a new challenge at All Dressed Up Challenge Blog and my choice of digis to use is Hippie Chick.  Loved this sweet image as soon as I saw it and couldn't wait to add it to a card. The theme at the All Dressed Up Challenge Blog  is always Anything Goes with the only rule to enter being you use an All Dressed Up image.  If you don't have any, they can be can either be purchased at the All Dressed Up Etsy Shop or downloading one of several cute freebies offered on the blog.

Christmas Melodies - Crafty Sentiments

I was thrilled to be asked by Crafty Sentiments Designs to guest design for them for the next six months and today's card is my first posting for them.  I was given this fabulous Christmas Melodies image to work with which is perfect because I now have my second Christmas card done for the year!
This image is available in both digital and rubber stamp format.
In addition to it being new release day, there's also a new challenge happening at Crafty Sentiments and the theme is Anything Goes (easy peasy, right?).  Details and rules can be found on the Challenge Blog and the generous prizes for the winners are:
3 images if the winner used a Crafty Sentiments Designs image; 1 image only for a winner who has not used a Crafty Sentiments Designs image; 1 image for our crafty sentiments favourite.
For the card, I used the digital version of Christmas Melodies and added the Winter Wonderland sentiment from TLC Creations.  There is a lesson in this card and one I learned the hard way... DO NOT open your Copic marker over your work!  I was finished the colouring and about to open the blue marker to do the shading around the snowman and sploosh!  I'd filled it too full and when I opened it, two huge (and I do mean huge) splotches of blue landed on the image surface.  Ruined, ruined, ruined!  I was so annoyed with myself... whipped myself good for that one because it's happened before so I do know better!
At any rate, I redid it and am happy with the end result.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good week!

Bookclub - Sugar Nellie

Thank goodness the temps have warmed up a bit here.  The afternoons are lovely... crisp air but still above freezing and I'm good with that.  No snow to speak of yet, barely a skiff but there's also plenty of time for that to come.  Winter is just not my favourite time of year and the first cold days of the season turn me into a shivering, whiny, sweater covered person.  Spring is my favourite season because I love the new leaves, green grass and everything seems so new and fresh.  It gives me something to look forward to.
Time for my regular DT post for Sugar Nellie and today I am showing you a new digi image in the Funky Kits shop.  It's a Simply Sassy design by Krista Smith and it is called Bookclub.

You can find the image here at the Funky Kits shop.

Words from the Heart - Sugar Nellie

This was one of those cards we have all dealt with... you know, every single little thing that can go wrong does.  The final straw was after colouring and gluing the image down, I discovered it was the scrap piece, not the 'good paper' piece.  And of course I can blame it on my Silhouette... I blame everything on that machine but what happened this time is I accidently used the piece I'd done a test cut on, not the good one, which was considerably smaller and not printed on the cheap Staples cardstock.  I wasn't very happy with how the colours were blending and once it was firmly stuck down, I found out why. So being, perfectly honest, it was more operator error (me!) than the Silhouette.
This kitten is a digi image called Words from the Heart and is available at the Funky Kits shop.

Christmas Garland & a Sugar Nellie DT Call

Happy Friday to all and bring on the weekend!  It's a long weekend here so I am looking forward to the extra day off work.
For today's DT card at Sugar Nellie, I used the Christmas Garland digi and decided to keep it CAS and sparkly.  The sentiment is TLC Christmas Angles and what a fab set of winter sentiments this is!
These sweet little snowpeople are available from the Funky Kits shop.

Best Buds

My inspiration card for Sugar Nellie this week is a digital image of a couple of fellas who are best buddies.  I love that sentiment which I found as a freebie on Create with TLC and I really debated about using it because it's so, so perfect for many reasons yet it seems a little gross too.  However, I know my grandsons would love it because that's the sort of thing they would think was hilarious.
The digi image is Best Buds and you can find it at Funky Kits.

Princess - Sugar Nellie

Hope you are well and looking forward to spring being here as much as I am.  I'd also like to welcome my new followers.
My inspiration card for Sugar Nellie this week is a sweet little gal digital image called Princess and you can find her at Funky Kits.

I decided to go CAS again and I love how this image lends itself to that style.  The cards was quite simple and quick because both the image and sentiment are digital, three little flags from some scrap paper, a button and done!
