Today's post is a reminder card about the latest challenge happening over at A Die for a Sketch. The rules for entering the challenge are very simple because the only requirements are to follow the sketch below and use at least one die!

Hanging Hearts

 It's time for Challenge #8 at A Die For A Sketch and this month's challenge is sponsored by Whimsy Stamps.  The sweet Denise is giving the challenge winner a die - how fitting is that?  A Sketch & Die challenge and a Die for a prize!  Just in case you've never used the Whimsy dies, I can vouch for their quality... perfect and precise cuts every single time.

I have never, ever had a card which was as beat up as this one... I struggled with the image, the background paper, the dies, the ribbon, a bow I had on... took off... put back on... took off!  Sheesh... this thing was torn apart so many times that I'm surprised the edges aren't crumpled and I'm pretty sure this card was so sick of me by the time I was finished!  The image is Stampin Bella's Hanging Heart Block and I used various shades of red Copics to colour the hearts and when dry, they were covered with Glossy Accents.  Diamond Dust was sprinkled over some glue randomly dotted on the paper. 

I used Sizzix's Bigz Flowers 3-D for the rolled flowers (I know, it's hard to see them with the black) and the Poppystamps Lorelai Outline Leaf.  The paper is My Mind's Eye and the brads are Stampin Up.

Furry Friends

First of all, I have a couple new followers and I'd like to say welcome and I'm glad you are here.

A new month and a new challenge at A Die for a Sketch.   The only rules for entering the Challenge is simple - you need to follow the sketch and use a minimum of one die cut on your project.  Easy, huh?  Here's the sketch:

 I love this image, I really do.  It is Furry Friends  from Sugar Nellie and I adore that little bear.  Now when I see the pic, I wish I'd added just a bit of sparkle to the snow and I will do that but this pic will have to do funny how you don't notice those things until you are posting the pics, or at least that is what always happens to me.  The papers are from my favourite collection of all time which is Bo Bunny's Father Christmas collection.  This stuff just springs to life when you add some sparkle.  I suppose I'll have to start hoarding it soon...  because I have only a few pieces left.  The snowflakes are Whimsy's Layered Snowflakes; the image coloured with Copics and I've added some gold Stickles to the edges of the papers and Glamour Dust on her snowsuit.  The pearls are done with a Viva Pearl Pen.

Teddy Bo Cat

 It's a new month so time for another sketch and challenge at A Die for a Sketch.  The only rules for entering the Challenge #3 is to follow the sketch and use a minimum of one die cut on your project.  Easy, huh?  Here's a pic of the sketch:

This is the first time ever I've used a Teddy Bo image and this one is called fairyd_tb_cat.  I love that silly look on his face... it's like 'whaaat'?  I used Copics to colour him and although he looks very orange in the picture, it's not really... his tummy, ears and footpads are pinkish while the rest of him is more orange/yellow so it must be the lighting.
The dies I used is Quickutz for the circles and then I got a new Memory Box die named Cherry Blossom which I purchased from Simon Says Stamp and I really like it!  It has a little tab between two petals that you pull together which gives the flower dimension without doing any rolling or folding.  The bow is from my stash and so are the pearls.  The paper is Basic Grey's Plumeria.  I coloured the image, then rubbed in some of Tim Holtz's Tumbled Glass distress ink for the shading and then dotted with a glue pen and added Stampin Up's Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  Copic colours I used are:  Cat - E99, E97, E95, E93; Tummy and paw pads - R24, R22, R20; Scarf - V17, V15, V12.

Gosh, it's July already and time for another A Die for a Sketch challenge and Dunja's given another great sketch to work with.  I've used Make it Crafty's Anastasia which is available in either digi format or a rubber stamp. The image has been coloured with Copics and all papers and flowers are Graphic 45.  I've had this image for ages and have finally got some colouring done - the hair seemed so intimidating but once I started it, it didn't seem so bad.

One of the best purchases I've made in a long time was the Quickutz circle dies... I bought them from one of my favourite online shops called Creating Everlasting Memories.  It's a fabulous little set with so many sizes of circles (21 pieces) and they cut like a dream and I've used those to cut all the circles.

A Die for a Sketch - Tiddlyinks

 

I have some exciting news to share - there is a brand new challenge blog starting up called A Die for a  Sketch and I am one of the design team members... woooohooo! This is truly an international team and is going to be so much fun and it is so exciting to be on a team with a brand new challenge blog.  Then I discovered my pal Nancy is on the same team is amazing because I had no clue about that and she lives in the same province as I do.   Anyway, I'll give you some information on this new challenge site.  Challenges will begin the 5th of each month and the only requirement is that you follow the current and use something punched.  Your project can be a card, anything but a card, a scrapbook page, whatever you can create as long as it uses the sketch and something punched.  So let's get this party started!  Here's the sketch for June's challenge:

 

 For my card, I used the Tiddly Inks Wryn Hanging Around.  Now to be perfectly honest with you, I've never used these images before but believe me, this isn't going to be my last.  She's got some really cute images and I love the whimsy and abandon this image portrays.  I've used Copics to colour the image and the papers are all by Authentique.  The little banners are one of the dies from the MFT Mini Wavy Banners, the circles were cut with Quikutzdies and the flags are from the Nestablilities Nested Lacy Pennants.  Lastly, the large wood button is a Prima wood buttons (I need more of those!).  So hop on over to the challenge blog and see what the rest of the girls have created for your inspiration and then be sure to enter.
