Today marks a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments and the theme is Hallowe'en/Fall. Perfect theme for me because I love Hallowe'en. Not the scary, spooky stuff... just the fun and cute.
I thought I'd try something a little different this time so I pulled out some watercolor paper and my distress inks. After masking off a moon, it was time to try the sky. I first rubbed in Stormy Sky, then Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and finally Black Soot. The colours got darker as I got closer to the edges. Then the moon... I used a small brush and painted in Scattered Straw, Marigold and then a few strokes of the Stormy Sky. I found a few star stamps so embossed them in using Ranger's Super Fine Gold embossing powder and then added a few sprinkles of it in the moon. Same embossing powder for the sentiment which is from a very old Stampin' Up set called Just Flying By. Bats... sheesh, I don't like bats at all. Occasionally, one would hang on the railings in our overhead shop door and when you'd open the door, the bat would give a little screech and off it went. Maybe it didn't screech... I thought it did but I do remember running as fast as my legs would carry me so I could get the heck outta there. Anyway, that was a bit of rambling... but what I did for the bats was simply cut out an outline on black card stock.
Details and rules and rules for the challenge can be found on the Challenge Blog and the generous prizes for the winners are:
Love to Scrap - Frightfully Fun
Stinkin Inkers - Monster Mash

For the card, I used the Patsy & Gizmo - Zoom on a Broom stamp which can be found at the Crafty Sentiments Designs shop.
