Run Derek Run!!

Hope you are well and thanks for stopping by.  Today's card is for a special person who is turning 40 and he has been moaning and groaning about it since he was 38 so I thought I'd do up a card just for him!  Run Derek Run is one of the hilarious and fab digis from Dr. Digi and how could it be more perfect for getting a good poke at someone who doesn't want another birthday.  So funny, the bald head, the paunch (aka beer gut), sweat pants and where the heck is his other sock?  The first thing I had to do was erase the #41 from the image which I did in Paint.net, added the number 40 and started to colour.  I so want to see this person's face when he gets the card.
Supplies:
Stamps: Dr. DigiRun Derek Run digi,,Pennant - Molly Blooms MB-0012E
Sentiment:  Papertrey - Faux Ribbons
Stars:  Nestabilities Stars, MFT Stars die, Verve Stars die
Paper:  GCD Studio
Copic Colours:
Pants:  BG000, B95, B93, B91
Shirt:  YR02, YR00, YR000, YR0000.  I found the shirt colours weren't very different from the skin tones so I went over the whole shirt with YG002 and it gave it a bit of a different hue
Skin:  E11, E00, E000
Have a great week!

LOL!!! VERY cute and I love this little guy. Cute little banner and the stars are wonderful. Really liked the way you did away with the 41 and replaced it with 40!

Thanks for the giggle Marilyn - this card is a stunner, and I too would love to see the (relatively) young man's face when he opens the card.

Forty? This dude looks like he is eighty three and failing fast! You know how I can tell? His eyes are so big -- that's because he can barely see. Where is he walking to anyway? I hope to get a can of spinach. Wait a minute, is this Popeye as an old man?
Anyone is mighty lucky to get a card from you Marilyn!

Hi Marilyn, just been catching up on your last few posts - gorgeous cards you've been making!

This one though has to be my favourite!! He is just soooo fab!!! I can remember the angst I went through when I turned 40 (only a year or so ago!! :-)) ) doesn't seem so bad now I've got used to it. After all what is age but a number, eh!! And I'll keep saying that to myself for a very long time!!

Sarah

PS - As always feel free to pin away. No problems.

Love this guy, Marilyn. I will have to remember him when my hubby's 60th comes around in November - he's already bald, has a mustache, and got the paunch (although not quite as much and this guy!! Great shading. I bet the moaner will get a kick out of this. When you are staring down 60, 40 is a breeze!
Hugs, Cathy

Brilliant male card and great colouring. I'm sure this will make him smile no matter how upset he is at reaching the milestone age. That was a really clever idea to change the number on the shirt. Thanks for the inspiration.
