Braid in My Hair!

A couple of weeks ago, Cathy from Sketch Saturday contacted me asking if I would like to be a guest designer for the month of February.  Like really?... well... yesssss!... I think it took me all of two seconds to shoot off an acceptance email so thanks for having me ladies.
I enjoy working with sketches and this week is especially sweet because A Day for Daisies is the sponsor so I get to use one of their sweet images.  This one is Braid in My Hair and although it would really freak me out to actually have birds in my hair, it is a lovely image and I am able to cope just fine.  I have to admit, it took me a little thinking to get this sketch to work with this gal's braid.  I didn't want to cover that glorious hair so under it we go!  I love these bark shapes by Prima.  I have a couple diferent shapes and although they aren't for every project, I thought it suited this piece because of all the distressing.

I am in love with the way you colored the hair on this card, Marilyn. You added such depth and variation. GORGEOUS!! This is a challenging image and your coloring skills just shine. The paper choice, the ribbon banner, the bark flower, and the flecks all come together to create a stunning creation. So GLAD to have you part of the Sketch Saturday team this month!

Beautiful Marilyn - love the colours you have used, and the way the softer tomes of the background make the image panel sing.

The colours are beautiful and you've done an amazing job with her hair. I do struggle sometimes to catch highlights but yours is fantastic. Love the frantage too, it softens the whole card. Lovely. Hugz Clare xx
