B is for Bear!

Today's post is a card I made using All Dressed Up's B is for Bear image.  Pretty much self-explanatory, right?  Such an easy card to whip up with very little colouring involved with the little bear, bird and lettering being the only thing I set my Copics down to.  By now, you know how obsessed I am with the Frantage embossing powders... I love, love, love that stuff!  I knew you could burn your paper if you had too many layers to go through to heat it from the bottom but today I was thinking about something else as I was heating it and all of a sudden... horrors!  I could smell something burning, looked down and there's a big brown burn spot on my image front!  EEEEK!  Of course we all know you can't rub it off but I was working that burn spot... why do these things happen when everything is coloured and finished... we've all been there.  Once I calmed down a bit, I knew I would have a die that would hide it so take a look at that bigger heart... can you see any burn marks?  Me either but now it's up on the big screen, I can see that in my haste to cover the mess, I got the die on crooked.  I don't even care... I was just so happy to be able to cover the burn.
I would also like to remind you All Dressed Up is having a  design team call and there is still time to enter because it the deadline is September 18, 2013.  You do need to submit a project using an All Dressed Up image but there is the cutest little Abi Ballerina freebie provided at the bottom of this post if you'd like to use it.  Also, if you have some time, be sure to check out our Pinterest page for some creative ideas and our Facebook page for even more inspiration and some friendly chit-chat.

Oh Marilyn I had to giggle at your telling of the burn mark and the subsequent 'hide'. I think we have all used embellishments at some point to hide smudges etc. Butterflies are good for that too :-)

So a bad week in the crafting room? I burn my papers too or fingers! This is a cute card, I love it, both colors of papers and the frantage is worth using on here. This image is adorable and you did a wonderful job with it.. I love your card, soooo pretty!!

My first thought when I saw your card was - I really love Marilyn's style - just perfect. I know that today's style seems to be pile it on Leon. I just can't do that - it's beyond me. I just love the uncluttered, well designed card. And you seem to nail this with every card you make.
Why is it we always see something wrong when we post the pictures. I never would have noticed your swinging heart if you had not told me. Hope you are well ...
